Bar, restaurant or café work: Most people at one time or another will work in a bar or waiting tables. You will likely work in the evenings and weekends so this may not suit everyone's lifestyle - but you may be able to work just a couple of evenings a week. Approach other workers in the restaurant/ bar of your choice and ask about part time work. They will point you in the right direction. Agency work: Working for a agency can provide you with a wide range of work depending on your skills, and the wages can be very good. Simply print off your CV and approach an agency (many are located on the highstreet including Kelly), where they will ask you what sort of work you are looking for and then ask you to complete a short data entry and call centre test. Companies relevant to your degree: Why not try to get into a company that is relevant to your degree, for example work within a travel agents over the weekend if you are studying tourism or perhaps an Art gallery if you are studying fine art.
Sell on Ebay: not a crazy idea, but you can sell your and your friends unwanted items on ebay for them. Or why not visit the charity jobs and buy and sell books, clothes or cd's?. Simply set up an account, list the items and wait for the bids! You can take a cut of the profit as well. A great job for those that don't do jobs.
Retail work: How about working in one of the high street shops? Part time jobs are usually aimed at students so you'll be working Saturdays and Sunday and aside from the wages you might also get staff discount – bonus!.
University Library: Many of the university libraries need help in term time and in the holidays to stack shelves or chase over due books. Wages vary, but at least the job is local.
With a part time job you will get the chance to meet new people, earn some money (as opposed to simply spending the banks money) and it might take your mind off the stresses of your workload. But, remember you are at Uni to get a degree, so don't take on too much paid work.
