Who are we ?
Clear Student Debt was launched and is maintained by Simon Dance, an undergraduate at Newcastle's Northumbria University.

Who writes the features?
All of the features and resources on ClearStudentDebt are written by ClearStudentDebt, namely Simon Dance as well as other fellow students including Joe Walker, also of Northumbria University. All of our features are comprehensively researched, and we strive to provide practical advice that not only saves students money, but also assists them in their everyday lives at university.

Why the adverts ?
The display of banners ads help to maintain the website and the high cost involved in keeping it online, including hosting fees, domain registration, bandwidth, online marketing and development. But please note, that NON of the adverts are uploaded to exploit our position, all of the advertisers are researched and are only listed through affiliate schemes.   We DO NOT sell advertising.

What are affiliate schemes ?

How does the site make money ?
As discussed above, the site generates revenue by displaying affiliate banners above the features, which once clicked generate a small contribution to ClearStudentDebt.

Where does the money go ?
The revenue generated from ClearStudentDebt is invested directly back into the website, expanding the range of features and accessibility (ie keeping it free to use), purchasing competition and giveaway items for our users as well as developing the framework of the website.

Since launching in June 2006 the contributions made (as a result of the display of affiliate banners) have helped to finance an upgrade of our server to cope with the high user levels as well as develop and launch a web forum in order to build our community with the hope of offering peer to peer advice.

So, what's next ?
Our goals for the site are:

- To continue to build the features and resource base for both students and graduates
- Reward our users with more freebies
- Run more competitions including free DVD players and book tokens.
